Dr. Erik Arter, D.C.

Colorado Springs Chiropractor

Dr. Erik Arter is one of Thrive Health Systems chiropractic physicians.

His passion for health began as a child: Dr. Arter suffered from severe migraines that were remedied by chiropractic care, and though he didn’t know it at the time, that experience would shape his future career.

His interest in healthcare was bolstered by a unique opportunity he experienced while completing his undergraduate education at Brigham Young University (BYU), Idaho. Dr. Arter (then just Erik:) was asked to be the Director of Campus Wellness. In this role, he fostered his love for nutrition as he worked with students, campus community and administration to improve their health.

Dr. Arter graduated from BYU with degrees in Human Biology and Sports and Exercise Science, and then attended graduate school at the University of Western States, where he received his doctorate in Chiropractic.

Along with doing all the things you may think a chiropractor does (rehab, spinal adjustments, muscular work, physiotherapy, etc.), Dr. Arter specializes in Atlas Orthogonal technique, Auricular Therapy, and Functional Medicine.

Dr. Arter loves public speaking and is privileged to have spoken at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) Medical School and Arizona State University. He has also partnered with successful organizations such as Whole Foods, the Engine 2 Diet, and Steven R. Covey’s 7 habits of Highly Effective People.

Dr. Arter took time off from his studies to serve as a missionary in Brazil for two years where he learned to speak Portuguese and later Spanish.

Whenever he has a free moment, he loves to write music and spend time outdoors with his wife and four kids camping, mountain biking, snowboarding, playing tennis or a round of golf.
