We'd like to welcome our newest Colorado Springs Chiropractor, Dr. Erik Arter, to the Thrive Health Systems team.
Dr. Arter specializes in two techniques, though he also performs the services you typically think of when you think "chiropractor." Those techniques are: Atlas Orthogonal and Auricular Therapy. Dr. Arter also uses functional medicine and nutrition to improve patients chronic conditions and diseases. Dr. Arter is 31 years old and has four children. His family is from Colorado and he loves the outdoors, so he is excited to plug into the Colorado Springs community. Thrive Health Systems added a fourth doctor to diminish wait times, improve scheduling accessibility, increase patients' time with the doctor, and serve the many new patients that seek Thrive out. Dr. Arter came to Thrive Health Systems, "Because I wanted to work in a place that has a philosophy that aligns with my own. Where I worked before was a great place, but it had a very narrow scope and at Thrive we are able to treat so many conditions because we are a 'one-stop-shop.' Being a chiropractor, it is easy to get boxed into being a "back cracker" or someone who deals strickly with back pain, but that's not how I or Thrive sees this profession. At Thrive, I love that we have cold laser therapy, Class 4 lasers, blood tests, spinal decompression, and more. I have the tools and the philosophy I need to do great things for my patients."

![]() Today's post is from Ian Kallenbach, Thrive Health Systems co-founder, about a patient's success story after just four visits for Thrive's Colorado Springs Class IV Laser Therapy: "One of my favorite recent stories was from a patient featured on our home page, Tony. Tony came in on his fourth visit, and told me that he had worked out for three hours that day. On top of that, he had cooked dinner for the office staff. Needless to say, I thought Tony was a very generous and kind person. In response to his proclamation that he has worked out for three hours that day, I said, 'Great Tony. That's a long time.' I had no idea why that was a big deal, except that it is a long time to work out. Tony's prior military experience conditioned him to train for many hours - even days - at a time. In fact, he missed it. He missed being able to move like he used to. When people are in our clinic, I figure they have some pain or injury they want to address, but I didn't know how much it was impacting his life. Tony told me his health story. 'Ian, before I came to see you guys, I walked with a cane, and I couldn't climb stairs. My knees were shot,' he said. In four visits, Tony went from unable to walk without a cane and a pain level of 10 on a 10 scale, to pain levels of 2 and able to workout for three hours. Tony is a young man, and Class IV Laser gave him his life back. It worked to rehabilitate his knees and reduce his pain.
