Thrive Health Systems' medical division is now up and running in Colorado Springs. Today, September 29, 2014 is our opening day. However, we will be hosting a Grand Opening in two weeks complete with food, tours, music and a meet and greet with the staff.
In the past, we've been coined a one-stop shop for your natural health care needs, such as chiropractic, functional medicine, cold laser therapy, class IV laser therapy, massage, etc., and now we've added medical services including annual exams, blood labs and testing, bioidentical hormone replacement, HCG, DOT Physicals, trigger point injections, knee injections, prolotherapy, family medicine and more.
The clinic is a mixture of primary care and physical medicine, given the nature of Thrive Health Systems' existing services and clientele.
Thrive Health Systems' medical division will function similarly to a Colorado Springs Urgent Care, but it will not be open quite as many hours. The open hours are 9 am - 5 pm, while Colorado Springs Urgent Care facilities are often open 7 days a week, until 8 pm.
As an example of how this medical facility will serve you, consider the next time you come in for a health concern. And, perhaps the doctor suspects you may have some food intolerance or food allergies. You can now be tested onsite with a blood lab for food allergies.
We will also provide hormone replacement therapy, using natural hormones as opposed to synthetic. So, if you are male, you can now be tested onsite for your testosterone levels, like you would at a Low T Center. Then, if your levels are low, we can treat you here, onsite.
Also, if you have been in a car accident, our medical staff can provide you with a medical opinion, as well as trigger point injections, if necessary. Whiplash victims also can often benefit from prolotherapy.
There are many benefits to our patients to merging our medical services with our existing services. Come, stop in, mingle, and take a peek. And if you'd like an appointment, you can call us at 719.475.8676. to schedule.
If you suffer from back and neck pain, knee pain, whiplash symptoms, and arthritis, there is a very good chance that you've heard of prolotherapy in Colorado Springs as a potential solution to your problem. There are relatively few prolotherapy doctors in Colorado Springs. This blog post is meant to help you break down what prolotherapy is, how it works, and whether it is worth exploring it further.
If after reading this blog post, you have further questions, you can contact one of our doctors at 719.476.0873 to discuss prolotherapy further in a free consultation.
Prolotherapy treatment is an injection into the affected joint (knee, spine, etc.). The injection is a solution of dextrose and it acts as an irritant, causing the body to react by building more connective tissue in the area.
Prolotherapy is commonly used in chronic and acute overuse injuries such as whiplash, tennis elbow, sprains and chronic tendonitis. As in the case of whiplash, the ligaments are over-stretched and become overly elastic. The prolotherapy treatment helps rebuild connective tissue in the area to reduce the unwanted elasticity.
Prolotherapy treatment appointments typically take approximately 30 minutes, which include prep time, the procedure and recovery. Patients often initially experience slight swelling after treatment, along with slight stiffness, before the inflammation reduces.
Prolotherapy is a non-surgical, out-patient procedure, which means patients get to avoid the risk of surgery and general anesthesia.
Expect to receive treatments every 2-6 weeks until you can return to normal activity.
A similar non-surgical treatment to prolotherapy is Class IV laser therapy which is also used for chronic and acute pain conditions in joints. We here excellent reviews from both laser therapy and prolotherapy. If you are looking for a prolotherapy in Colorado Springs, we can arrange to have a doctor treat you at our office, or we can refer to a prolotherapy doctor in Colorado Springs.
