What Should I Expect At Thrive's Initial Exam

Your initial exam is a time for you to talk, for the doctor to listen, and for your condition to be examined. Consider it an information gathering session for your doctor. Some of the feedback we are most proud of is that "You guys actually listened to me. It felt so good to be listened to."

This appointment will take 30-45 minutes.

We perform many different services at Thrive Health Systems, so your initial exam may vary based on your condition, service provided and practitioner, but there will be some common traits.

For instance, a patient who comes in with a disc herniation for laser therapy and spinal decompression, may be asked to bring in their MRI reports and records and they will receive a trial treatment, if they are qualified by the doctor for treatment.

A personal training patient will receive a 30 minute consultation with the trainer prior to their first workout session to determine their goals, limitations, and success in the functional movement test.

However, what each has in common is that you will meet with your practitioner to go over your intentions, expectations, health history, and diagnostic materials. After that, a determination will be made about whether you qualify for treatment.

Some offices won't treat you on your first day. Generally, that is not our style. Many of our patients come to us in pain and want to get out of it. If we clear a patient for care, we treat a patient, barring extenuating circumstances.
